Big Brownie Caught This Afternoon 280511

Hi

News from the Reservoir – one large Brownie caught and returned & another bigger Trout lost by Jimmy (i shouldn’t have tried to pull it out of the water by handlining) Young.

We think the Trout Jimmy lost was possibly a big wild fish because of where it was hooked & the size of it’s tail.

However Jimmy headed home and Roddy fished back towards the boat house with me – when this happened – please see the following photos.

Thanks to Roddy for the excellent photography.

      Hi Bill
Think that “daft hats” are an essential part of fishing & am thinking about updating my “3 euro – Paris Disney Indiana Jones classic” with something newer and a little more stylishly daft – currently looking for inspiration – any ideas?
      Alby 😀

Lovely fish Alby, as I said on the phone on Friday I saw two cracking fish take flies on the surface in heavy rain and a strong wind. One at the far point of the second bay and the other about 30 yards up from the boathouse (maybe you got one of them) They are there and its good to hear of big fish getting caught and sometimes unfortunately lost!!!
